In light of completing my book goal for the year (24) I thought I would share my top three books of 2019, so far!
The first is Becoming by Michelle Obama. This was one of the first books I read in 2019 and the very first book I chose to be a Human Kind Book Club book of the month.
Michelle is an inspiration to me. I found myself relating to her quite a bit in her book, and love her even more now that I’ve finished it. Ladies, pick this one up. Guys, don’t be afraid to do the same.
Number two, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. This was one of those hug the book to your chest and sigh when it’s over kind of books. I was HOOKED right until the end. There were elements of this book that reminded me of Beartown, and it was just overall spectacular. If you love a poetic slow burn, this is the one for you.
Finally, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I picked this one up at a used book sale and after watching the movie trailer I decided I had to read it immediately. I can’t express how much adored this book. It’s a classic, and all I can hope is that the movie does it justice.

Happy Reading! Annie
