REVIEW: The Whisper Man

– Alex North

Honestly people, just prepare to feel uneasy while reading this novel. After the very sudden death of his wife, Tom decides he and his son, Jake, need to move to a new town for some new beginnings. But the town they move too has had some pretty serious issues in the past. About 20 years ago there was a serial killer who kidnapped and murder five residents. And it just so happens that as soon as Jake and Tom move to this town another boy gets kidnapped.

So, what kind of creepy person wants to read a book about children getting kidnapped? Honestly, it’s sad and disturbing but this thriller has some twists and turns, a lot of emotions of a tricky father and son relationship, and some plot twists that I definitely was not expecting – TRUST ME.  So before you cross this book off of your list due to the disturbing plot, just give it a chance. Grab a glass of wine if you want to take the edge off a little, or perhaps grab a bottle of wine to take the edge off A LOT, and dive into this suspenseful book full of mystery and thrill.

SIDE NOTE: Alex North based this book off of his son telling him that he was playing with “the boy in the floor”…. uhm what? If that was my child, I’m not sitting down and writing a novel on it, I’m putting that kid in the car and taking him straight to a psychologist.
